Even those in charge of a decades old engineering marvel that allowed California to blossom, a system of reservoirs, canals and dams, understand it was a project built for a different century…a different climate. Answers are also running dry as to how California will continue to be able to bring water to people on the coast while ensuring nature has a chance to survive the transformation done to the landscape by generations of politicians, engineers, cities and towns, farms and front yards.
